As part of the 53rd Commemoration of the Martial Law declaration, UC hosted an educational forum held on September 29, 2025, at the UC Theatre. The event, attended by students, faculty, and staff, examined the truths of Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr.โ€™s regime, focusing on the systemic corruption, economic decline, and cultural dislocation of the period.

Resource speakers also drew attention to the persisting legacy of corruption under the current administration of Ferdinand Marcos Jr., pointing to recurring patterns of abuse of public trust, lack of transparency, and institutional decay. They emphasized that the lessons of Martial Law remain urgent and unfinished.

The forum was organized by Tanggol Kasaysayan, the National Union of Students of the Philippinesโ€“Cordillera, and the UC Speech and Debate Society.
