Faculty members preparing for research proposal convened for a Research Proposal Pitching and Mentorship Session under the Rights2LIFE Project, a capacity-building initiative designed to strengthen proposal readiness and scholarly output. The session gathered researchers from the College of Criminal Justice Education and the College of Arts and Sciences, providing them a platform to pitch and refine their proposed studies before international experts.

The mentoring was led by Prof. Dr. Christophe Vandeviver and Prof. Dr. Tom Vander Beken of Ghent University, whose evaluative guidance focused on research framing, methodological soundness, feasibility, and global relevance. Their feedback directly addressed the needs of faculty members in the crucial pre-proposal stage, helping translate emerging ideas into competitive, fund-ready research designs.

These pathways support the advancement of research grounded in justice, human rights, and social impact, while aligning local inquiries with international research standards.

The session was held on January 23, 2026, at the InTTO, UCโ€“Legarda Campus, and was facilitated by the Rights2LIFE and InTTO teams. The event supported SDGs such as SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
