In preparation for the 2026 cycle of the Department of Science and Technologyโ€“Grants-in-Aid (DOST-GIA), senior, intermediate, and junior researchers from the UC Academic Colleges and Student Services convened for a Re-Echo Session on February 3, 2026, at the UC Innovation and Technology Transfer Office.

The session provided a focused walkthrough of updated guidelines, funding priorities, and practical strategies aimed at strengthening the quality and competitiveness of research proposals. Participants gained shared insights from the recent DOST-GIA Call Conference, aligning institutional research directions with national science, technology, and innovation agendas.

To further refine proposals, researchers are set to undergo a series of follow-through trainings and writing workshops designed to enhance conceptualization, methodology development, and compliance with DOST standards ahead of submission.

The initiative supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education by fostering research capacity-building, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure through the promotion of science-driven innovation, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by strengthening collaboration between academic institutions and national research funding agencies.
